One of the truly rewarding things about being a motivational speaker is getting to meet the people(?) who attend your seminars.  At  a recent Shove it Upwards! speaking engagement, I was privileged to have been introduced to Manipede, an entity who is truly working with what he’s got to live a fully-actualized life!  We spent some special moments together backstage, and I learned of his incredible story: back when he was a human, he was bitten by a chemically-altered millipede, and all too soon began to take on the characteristics of the arthropod that had gnawed on his flesh.
Undaunted by this turn of events, Manipede is thriving: he stands before us now a proud, fun-loving individual. Â A party animal and an unabashed ladies’ man (well, ladies’ Man-ipede), this inspirational creature is even the star of his own movie, The Burbank Playas Present: Manipede!
Perhaps only eleven or twelve of us will ever find ourselves being bitten by a millipede and transforming into a frightening half-human thing. Â When that does happen, how we deal with it will be totally up to us. Â But with this well-dressed, upbeat freak of nature leading the way, we will know there is only one way to deal with it: empow-WOW-eringly!
Thanks, Manipede!

I’ve never seen a half-millipede man in a suit before…debonair, to say the least. And the great thing is, he’ll always have a leg to stand on!

Yes, MJ, and if that’s not empow-WOW-erment, I don’t know what is!

Wow, Mr. Paul Maul, I am so inspired! If a half-man half-millipede can lead an empow-wow-wered life, I’ll bet that I, half-man half-dork, can do the same! Maybe even cozy up to the ladies like Manipede! I’m signing up for a lifetime supply of your seminars right now!

Your comment is inspiring and notable for many reasons, not the least of which is the phrase “cozy up to” which needs to be used more often, I think.

Manipede rules! That’s all I have to say about it.
